Hair Fashions East, founded by George Buckner in 1974, is a multicultural salon. It is a salon of the future. Buckner's is a full service New York based salon for women with a separate salon for men. It provides clients with a full range of products and services including manicures, pedicures, facials, make-up, conditioning treatments, hair-cutting and styling, and his world-known chemical services.

Each client is counseled on the importance of achieving and maintaining a total fashion look from head-to-toe. "A great hair cut is no longer enough. My clients are advised on skin care, makeup, proper nail care, and scalp and hair care to complement their image."

I have stayed with Cornell McBride's system for many years, it is called Wave By Design. Gerri Curl is a brand name not a generic name for a system. This system is known as Curly Perm System (CPS). With the Curly Perm System, there is no such thing as a drippy, wet and sticky curl. This condition of wetness is due to; too much activator being used and not shampooing often enough. Curly perms should be shampooed and conditioned at least once a week or more. When you don't shampoo your curly perm, you leave the scalp in a condition for bacteria to breed and you allow the hair to become weighted down by curly activators, dirt and oil. With the proper care, curly perms can look simply gorgeous on both men and women.
